Artist Spotlight: Charline von Heyl
Charline von Heyl is a German artist i just recently had the pleasure of discovering. I had read somewhere that the sfmoma had acquired a few of her works, and as i always do when coming across a name that is unknown to me, i threw it into google. I was blown away by the diversity and energy of her work. It had the almost street inspired abstract leanings of Norman Bluhm, but had enough defined characters to also appease those who dont typically find themselves drawn to abstract work. For my back ground in street art, and my current love of more contemporary arts, she manages to strike a perfect balance.
