Weegee does Portraits

You, like I, are probably most familiar with Weegee's raw, unaltered crime scene photography. In his later years though, he started implementing strange photography techniques, some of which he used on portraits he took of friends (dali, picasso), and Nixon. I personally love the Picasso image, because i feel it captures his public personality perfectly.

Just Picasso

I got a chance to see the new Picasso exhibit at the DeYoung today. I was excited, because i hadnt seen the full spectrum of his years since ive had a full functioning mental. I was blown away, he truly is the most talented, innovative artist of all time. The sheer output, and diversity of his work made me feel downright shameful about how little ive created in my life comparatively. They didnt allow photos, and many of my favorites, which were small pen and ink drawings, dont come across through picture, but here are a few of the standouts i jotted down throughout the show.

1.Le Repast Frugal

2.Woman with Catarac

3. The Acrobat (of which i picked up a very affordable miniature print)

4. The Supplicant
