Artist Spotlight: Francis Picabia
If someone tells you that Dali is there favorite artist, chances are they don't know that much about art. Not saying he isn't one of history's greatest, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to look past the people history has made a star, and examine the people history put on the bench. Francis Picabia shared many similarities with Dali. They were both surrealists, dadaists, lived in Paris, had all the same friends, the list goes on. What differentiated them though, is the influence of Duchamp on Picabia's work. While the surrealist nature is always there, his work is far more conceptual that a lot of his contemporaries. I just plain think his work is beautiful, and am always shocked by how little his name comes up in discussion. So please, take some time to enjoy the diverse work of Francis Picabia.

John Chamberlain r i p
I just read the devastating news that John Chamberlain passed away. One of my absolute favorite sculptures, and the major influence to many of my favorite sculptures working today. A truly sad loss for the galaxy.
