Artist Spotlight: Leonora Carrington

Sadly, another fantastic artist passed away this week. At the age of 94, Leonora Carrington passed away in Mexico City from pnuemonia related complications. Not often brought up amongst the more well known names in surrealism (unless, much like Dorothea Tanning, when in relation to Max Ernst), but i happen to think thats a big mistake. I love her dark northern renaissance inspired take on surrealism, and i think you will too. R.I.P.

Streetwise

I cant even lie, this is one of the scariest, gritty documentaries i have ever seen. You imagine these kinds of things happening in somalia, liberia, sudan, etc, but its always a shock to see just how horribly some people have it in our own countries borders. I grew up hearing stories about being a runaway on the streets of seattle, but i had no idea it was like this, it makes me very thankful i made it to the physical realm in the first place.

Item Review: Burgus Plus Chino

After a long search, i finally settled on these Burgus Plus joints for my new heavy ware chinos. Let me just say, these are the best chinos ive ever come in contact with. They are heavyweight and crispy, they are very comfortable and have a great sheen to them, and the fit is at the perfect intersection between slim and regular. Theyre the rare kind of chino that actually look better with some use. You do have to create a rakuten account, but if you email them they will ship them without a proxy. They came out to around 180$ and are much nicer than any pair you can get stateside for that amount of money.
